3G
3G – PHASE 1
3G is an exciting project being brought to Perth by Strut Dance. 3G is short for “Trois Generations” a work by renowned French choreographer Jean-Claude Gallotta that involves dancers from three generations. STEPS have accepted Strut’s invitation to lead and rehearse the ‘young’ generation for the West Australian re-staging of this exceptional work, and will audition, rehearse and manage eight young dancers between the ages of 8-12, four boys and four girls.
The project will be split over two years, 2011-2012. Phase 1 will occur in October/November 2011, with rehearsal director Darrell Davis visiting Perth to undertake a preliminary rehearsal period with rehearsal directors from each group involved. For the ‘youth’ generation, STEPS will coordinate an audition, where young dancers from all over Perth will have the opportunity to try out for this exciting work and exceptional opportunity.
In the lead up to the audition, STEPS will run a series of classes aimed at this age group, for their Winter class series August-September.
